Balance the Air in your home.

What are whole house humidifiers?

Whole-house humidifiers are an add-on to your HVAC system, treating the air across selected areas or the entire home. The humidifiers add moisture to the air that’s circulated back into these spaces.

What are dehumidifiers?

Dehumidifiers work to decrease moisture, as opposed to adding moisture with a humidifier, to the air in your home. Dehumidifiers work best in spring and summer.

The Ideal Humidity

Ideal humidity ranges for comfort and health range from approximately 30%-50%.

Humidifiers help add moisture when those levels are below 30%, while dehumidifiers help remove moisture if the

levels reach 50% or greater.

Why are whole-house humidifiers important?

When you run the heat in your home during the winter,

the air inside your space becomes dry.

Dry air leads to worsening respiratory issues,

such as asthma, nosebleeds, and congestion. Also, many people experience recurring drying of the nasal passages, eyes, mouth, and skin.

Whole-home humidifiers help you to balance the humidity

in the air, making you feel warm at lower temperature levels.

Our bodies retain more heat when there’s moisture in the air. Often, the use of a whole-house humidifier causes a decrease in your heating bill because you don’t set the heat as high.

Additionally, dry air can cause structural damage

to the interior of your home. Wood floors and woodwork

are susceptible to cracking, wallpaper can begin to peel off, and even electronics can be damaged.

Even the annoying static cling that we experience during the winter is also caused by dry air..

Why are whole-house

dehumidifiers important?

Dehumidifiers are important tools to protecting your health when there’s excessive moisture in your air space. Where there’s excess moisture, issues like mold and dust mites can form and grow quickly on and beneath surfaces in your home. Odors can also form and cling to the air. These issues often exacerbate allergies, congestion, wheezing, and other respiratory issues.

Dehumidifiers work to reduce mold, mildew, and fungus growing in your home. Once these irritants are properly cleaned and removed from the space, a dehumidifier can reduce the excess moisture and prevent these growths from reoccurring.

Removing excess moisture can also prevent many pests from invading your home. Insects, termites, and other pests are attracted to your home because of moisture. Once structural damage to wood or other surfaces is caused by moisture, the pests are able to quickly penetrate the structure.

Dehumidifiers prevent this by removing the excess moisture in the air before it becomes a problem for your home.
